Deputies arrived at Bruce’s truck stop and met the RP. RP said he was on his way back to New Jersey with a load on his Semi. RP said he was in the left lane and turned on his turn signal to change lanes so he could get on the turn pike. RP said that there was a green Toyota pick-up with a green camper shell in the right lane. RP said he tried to slow down so he could get over and the pick-up would slow down also. The RP said he started inching over and the pick-up slowed down and let him over. At this time the pick-up changed lanes and pulled next to him. RP said the driver of the pick-up started giving him hand jesters to which the RP did the same. The RP said he went to exit to the turnpike when the driver of the pick-up pulled out a gun and shot in the side of the semi cab. The RP said the bullet went through the side of the cab hitting a broom handle and landed on the bed. The RP said the bullet just missed the head of his driving partner who was asleep on the bed. The RP said he followed the pick-up trying to get his tag number. The RP said the pick-up exited South on 265 East Ave and then went East on Admiral. The RP was unable to get a tag number but did say it was an Oklahoma tag.
The RP described the driver an older male wearing a ball cap and glasses. He said the truck was he thought a 1998 to 2000 model Toyota T100. It was green and had a green camper on the bed. The RP provided a statement form and the bullet he retrieved from the bed

Comment by Samantha Dunaway on October 16, 2011 at 6:53pm Im one of those who cant stand when someone drives right beside me or in my/near my blind spot. The eliminate my options if something were to fall off a vehicle in front of me, or an animal were to dart into the road.
My other driving pet peeve is when someone rides you tail when your going the speed limit (or in my case 5-9 miles above the speed limit) then passes you and proceeds to slow down to a speed slower than what you were going. It never fails on trips to visit family out of town, late at night, I get one of those jokers. Speeding up and getting way ahead doesnt work, they speed up to. Slowing down doesnt work, they think you know there is a policeman around or something and they slow way down as well. Only thing I found that seems to work is to exit, take a bathroom break, grab something to drink, etc. Hopefully they found somone else to annoy by the time you get back on the road.
